Getting Started | Tutorial #2 - Setting Up Delivery Charges

Modified on Wed, 10 Mar 2021 at 02:56 PM

Setting up delivery charges for your florist website is easy and takes only a few minutes.

For US Shops (International Shops, Scroll Down)

Now that we've set up the tax rate, we will set up the delivery charges by zip code.

First, Navigate to Settings > Delivery > Delivery Charge.

To create delivery charges based on delivery zip code, click 'Add Delivery Charge'.

Enter the zip code and the according delivery charge for that zip code.
There are 10 zip code entries per page. To add more, click "Save Delivery Charge" in the top right corner and then click 'Add Delivery Charge' to continue adding zip codes.
The Delivery Zone is optional to set. This will allow you to create zones so it's easy to see which zip codes are close to each other when routing deliveries.
For example, if zip code 12345 is in the same area as 67891, Zone 1 can be selected for both. Then on the Deliveries page, orders in Zone 1 will show first, then those in Zone 2 and so on. This is an optional feature to help organize deliveries.

At the top, enter in the Out of Area Delivery Charge. On the POS or website, if a zip code is entered for the recipient address that is not one listed, the Out of Area delivery charge will be added to the order instead ($10-15 is typical).

Remember to click Save in the upper right!

Zones

Depending on how you assess the delivery charge, zip code setup may still be applicable for your shop. However, Floranext also has the option to assess delivery charges by zones for shops outside the US.

Delivery Zones will allow you to setup custom zones with a set delivery charge so the zone of the recipient can be selected to add the correct delivery charge to the order.

First, navigate to Settings > Delivery > Delivery Charge.

Click on the 'Apply Delivery Charge Based On' dropdown menu and select Zones.

Now add delivery zones:

Add the name of your delivery zone in the Zone Name field and the delivery charge for this zone in the Delivery Charge field.

Click "Save Delivery Zone" in the top right corner and repeat until all zones are entered.
