Apply Tax on Delivery
To set up Tax on Delivery, navigate to Settings >Business Settings > Tax.
Under the Advanced Settings at the bottom of the page, you can choose to apply Tax by Destination on POS, Website, or both.
If Yes is chosen, the tax rate applied to the order will default to the zip code of the recipient's address.
Note - for pickup orders placed on the wesite, the system will apply the default tax rate for web orders.
Creating Additional Tax Rates
In the Tax Rates section on the Tax Manager, add any number of municipal tax rates. Don't forget to save!
Tying Tax Rates to Delivery Zip Codes
After saving your tax rate settings, navigate to Settings > Delivery > Delivery Charge.
Add zip codes to your delivery charges, or edit existing zip code delivery charges. If you followed the previous steps correctly, you should find a named tax rate under the Sales Tax Rate dropdown menu. Choose the appropriate tax rate for the zip code.
Don't forget to save your changes!
Checking Tax Owed to Different Municipalities
Navigate to Reports > Sales Report and set the range of dates as desired.
Click Show Advanced Options (in blue) to view your different tax rates.
