Markup
Labor - Labor markup is set as a percentage but please set number value without the "%" sign as our system only accepts a number value but will still treat it as a percentage.
Floral & Supply markup - The math for these two Markups works very much the same. They just apply a set multiplier to two different types of components in a recipe.
As it sounds, the Floral Markup would only apply to any Flower Component and the Supply Markup to any Supply Component.
Floranext offers the ability to set markups on our Advanced Proposals so that you can make sure you are charging the right price for your weddings and events.
Setting Markup
You can set the default proposal markup in Settings > Proposal Settings > Proposal Settings
You can also change the markup on the proposal page itself by clicking on the Settings button and clicking on Markups.
Note - Changing your markups in the proposal settings will not update your previously created proposals. It is also possible to customize your Markups per proposals.
How Do Markups Work?
Floral and Supply
The math for Floral and Supply Markups works very much the same. They just apply a set multiplier to two different types of components in a recipe.
The Floral Markup would only apply towards any Flower Component and the Supply Markup to any Supply Component.
The breakdown of the math can be viewed on the item's detail page
For example, the Bridal Bouquet:
- Floral Markup = 2
- Floral Cost = 10 Red Roses with a cost = $10 floral cost
- Floral Cost of ($10) * Markup (2) = Marked Up Cost ($20)
Note: Floral and Supply Markups must be set at least 1 or higher.
Labor & Guideline Price
The Labor Markup is set at a percentage, which is calculated from the Total from the Floral and Supply Markups. From the previous example, we've found that this item recipe for a Dozen Roses in a single Vase would be Marked Up to $39.
Say you set your Labor Markup to 10%. We would then add $3.90 to the Total Markup price.
This is where we get our Guideline Price.

Logo
Use this section to add your logo to the front page of your proposals.
Click Choose File to browse your computer for a logo file to upload. Once uploaded, you will see the name of the file in the blue text next to the Choose File box.
If you would like to replace the existing file, click Choose File and choose a new file. To delete the logo and go back to a proposal without logos, check the Delete Image box and save.
Remember to save after making any changes to the logo!
Filter Settings
Filter Settings control what proposals you will see in your proposal manager. By default, your proposals page will show only pending and canceled proposals, not completed proposals.
You can change either of these settings by selecting yes or no from the drop down, then save.
Tax by Line
Enabling tax by line item will allow you to mark each item individually in the proposal as taxable or non-taxable.
To enable this setting, navigate to Settings > Proposal Settings > Proposal Settings in your Floranext dashboard.
Find the Tax by Line section and set Tax by Line to Yes and click Save in the upper right.
Event Agreement Text
With the Floranext advanced proposal manager, you can edit and customize the front page text on a proposal.
- In your Floranext Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Proposal Settings > Proposal Settings.
- Scroll down to Front Page Text and add or change any front page text to your proposal.
- You may also add images to your front page text by clicking Add Image.
Don't forget to save periodically when writing and formatting text!
Note - There is a tool to upload an image to the text. If you would prefer to integrate your logo into this text, you may upload it here instead of the logo section.
Terms
Your proposal terms, or contract, will form the basis of your and the customer's responsibilities and liabilities, so it's worth spending some time reviewing the generic terms in place by default.
Email Message
This section sets the default body text for your emailed proposals. This template can be customized in each emailed proposal before sending it.
